Static mixers are simple, maintenance free mixers which comprise a section of pipe fitted with helical baffles that divert and disrupt the flow of liquid as it is pumped through the pipeline. Static mixers have no moving parts and utilize a pump to generate the required flow through the pipeline.
Static mixers are very effective for simple in-line blending tasks, such as liquid/liquid blending or dispersing gases into liquids, with continuous flow.
An inline mechanical mixer is typically high shear and is superior configuration for more demanding duties, including blending liquids with varying viscosities, creating fine emulsions or suspensions, disintegrating and dissolving solids, incorporating powders or where two materials react together on contact.
A Mixquip Series 600 In-Line mixer can be included “in series” after a Mixquip Statflo static mixer , where the static mixer creates a preliminary mixture, which then passes into the In-Line mixer and is subjected to intense high shear mixing action, resulting in a homogeneous product with a fine particulate or globule size.

Yes, if the optional VFD (variable speed drive) is installed to reduce the RPM of the agitator.
The lifespan of the mechanical seal in a Series 100 Side Entry Agitator is dependent on a number of factors including product being mixed, frequency of use, particles in the product, temperature i.e cold stabilizing, etc. However as a rule of thumb most applications such wine or juice blending achieve 24 -48 month lifespan with their side entry agitator seals
Mixing capacity for a given size of mixer will vary with the type of product being mixed, and the viscosity / density. Mixquip engineers design and select Mixer models specifically for a given application(s). Where a mixer such as a Series 50 Clamp On Mixer may be used in a variety of different size vessels, possibly mixing a variety of products, a VFD (variable speed drive) is recommended to slow the mixing intensity when processing low viscosity products in small tanks.
Most models of Mixquip Agitators including tope entry, clamp on and IBC mixers, can be supplied with Intrinsically safe “Flameproof” motors or pneumatic drives, for mixing flammable liquids.
This depends on the size of the plastic tank and product being mixed. A top entry agitator with a steel or stainless steel bridge can be used for mixing in rigid plastic vessels. For PH control of wastewater in poly tanks a post mounted clamp on mixer can be used.
